First encounter with lobster

I recall as a kid spending lots and lots of time with Lindsey.  One especially vivid memory I have of her dad was the first time I'd ever seen live lobsters.  He had brought them home for dinner  - and wow, that struck me as something very exotic and extravagant to do - and took them to the laundry room in the basement.  There, on the floor, he whacked them on the head with a broom handle to stun them before cooking them.  Very thoughtful and kind!

Many, many years later, I (once!) brought home live lobster, and thought of that moment as a kid watching Mr. Gray handle the critters.  It still struck me as a very fancy thing to do, cook lobster.  Alas, I did not wield a broom stick, but I did scream and squirm a lot before the final plunge!

May there be many fun and wonderful memories shared of Mr. Gray's long and interesting life...
