Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium was founded in 1999 to serve families in the Red Deer area with compassion, dignity, and respect. In 2010, ownership was assumed by Gordon and Barb Mathers, who brought with them years of experience and a deep commitment to providing meaningful care to families during life’s most difficult moments.
Gordon began managing funeral homes in Red Deer in 1998 and quickly earned the trust of the community through his professionalism and dedication to service. Under his leadership, Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium grew into a place known for its warmth, integrity, and personal attention to detail. For nearly a decade and a half, Gordon guided the funeral home with a strong sense of responsibility to both the families he served and the broader community.
In 2024, the Mathers family proudly welcomed the next generation of leadership when their son, Nash R. Mathers, assumed management of the funeral home. As a licensed second-generation funeral director, Nash continues the legacy established by his parents—honouring the traditions of the past while also bringing fresh perspective and dedication to serving families with care and compassion.
Today, Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium remains family-owned and operated, committed to upholding the values of trust, dignity, and compassion that have been at the heart of the business since its beginning.
