I am deeply saddened to hear of Lance's passing. I don't even know where to begin sharing the numerous memories I have from my childhood of Lance....from him taking me to Westerner Days, the Auction Mart, fishing, his snooker room and when he got a shorter cue for me to use. As well as the many Sunday afternoons ,Christmas', and birthdays spent at Lance and Bev's farm, visiting, playing outside and cruising the driveway, fields and grass on the old Honda motorcycle. I don't know how many times Lance had to kick start it for me after I let out the clutch too soon and stalled the engine.
I loved hearing about the history of Lances farm and how he would ride his horse into Red Deer for school, hearing about his Judo stories and snooker tournaments, while he smoked his pipe after another amazing meal that Bev prepared for all of us.
Although not blood related to my family, Lance and Bev will always be considered my grandparents. The way they opened their home and hearts to the King family is unbelievable, to say the least. And now that I'm older, I am forever grateful how they embraced us all like family and provided me with countless great memories. Thank you!
When people ask me about my grandparents, I always talk about Lance and Bev... two wonderful, amazing people.
To Bev, Cindy and Duane, Kim and Neil, Wendy and all grandchildren, Serena and I extend our deepest sympathies to all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. - Dave King.

I am super saddened and send my deepest condolences. Lance you were like a grandpa to me growing up. I can remember every sunday spent with you and Bev and the entire family. I remember you teaching me how to play snooker and us playing around the farm. Thank you for all the love you gave me and Dave. You will be deeply missed!!! Love Mike King
