Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Debra Lynn Couturier announces her passing, after a brave battle with cancer, on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the age of 64 years. Debra passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Debra was born on January 7, 1956 at Barrie, Ontario. Debra’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Debra’s kind spirit, passion for family, love of reading and playing games will live on through them. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She always had a smile on her face, a joke on her lips and was always there to brighten the lives of others. All who knew Debra loved her and she will be missed but not forgotten. Debra will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Natalie (Doug) Halwas, Kyle (Terry-Jo) Gillett and Tanya (Tyler) Bates; her eleven grandchildren, Adonna (Jason), Shawn, Nathan, Greg (Brie), Dylan, Ryan, Tyson, Emily, Jesse, Hayden and Sianna and her seven great grandchildren, Savannah, Hailey, Lyric, Maverick, Mallon, Raya and Wyatt. She will also be sadly missed by her brothers, Bob (Brenda), Grant (Jeannette), Guy (Debbie), Kevin (Donna) and her sister, Sandra; as well as many other relatives and dear friends. Debra was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Robert King and her sisters, Beverly and Susan. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at the Gilby Group Campground (overnight camping is available) on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., with a luncheon and sharing of fond memories. Coffee and tea will be available; we request that you bring your own beverages and a chair. For those that would like to stay into the evening/night, we are having a potluck snacks/dinner, we will be doing roasts (beef and pork). We would like to thank everyone for all their condolences. Our Mom was a very special lady to many and she loved everyone unconditionally. We would love if anyone has any photo’s they would like to share, to please bring them to add to our display. There will be a microphone available for those who like to express their love for our Mom, Gramma, Great Gramma, Sister, Aunt, and friend. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 5014 – 50 Street, Eckville, Alberta. 403.746.2024 or 1.800.481.7421.
