Obituary for Dale Thomas Watt

Dale Thomas Watt was born in Peace River, Alberta on June 25, 1962 to Ted (Edward Thomas) and Gwen Watt. Dale grew up on the family farm northeast of Peace River, where he spent many hours in the garage with “the boys” building, fixing/modifying, and “tweaking” all manner of equipment. He took his love of taking things apart and putting them back together by earning his Auto Mechanics License in July 1984. He worked as a mechanic his entire life. Like his Dad, if it had wheels or a motor, he could fix it. In May of this year, Dale learned he would be in for the fight of his life with lung cancer. Unfortunately it had already moved to his brain. He lost his battle on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Red Deer Hospice. Dale will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Gwen Dickson, his three children, Tatiana, Logan and Dustin, six grandchildren, his brother, Loren, and sisters, Cheryl Whitten and Arlene Spinks. Dale was predeceased by his dad, Ted in 1989. At Dale’s request, there will be no service; however there will be an informal gathering in the coming spring, to honour his memory. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. At Dale’s request, his ashes will be scattered at his favourite place. In lieu of cards and flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Red Deer Hospice at www.reddeerhospice.com, where Dale received the most loving, respectful, dignified care possible. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
