Obituary for Cameron William Blackburn

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cam Blackburn sends him home. Cam passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital on September 29, 2016 after a long illness. Cam is survived by his father and stepmother Ray (Aline) Blackburn of St. Albert, AB, sisters Nicole (Hal) Cameron of Calgary, Maureen (Art) Lewis of Leslieville, brother Scott (Lindsay) Blackburn of St. Albert, stepbrothers Guy (Dee) Parent and Marc (Meaghan) Parent of St. Albert, stepsister Michelle (John) Weeks also of St. Albert and Jossie Blackburn (Cam’s ex wife). Cam is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cam was born on February 8, 1959 in Edmonton. He attended school in Jasper Place and graduated Grade 12 from Jasper Place Composite High School in 1976. Cam then went to NAIT and became a machinist. He worked for various machine shops until his health failed him. Cam played hockey as a kid and skied. As Cam got older he loved to ski and was a regular at Marmot Basin in Jasper. Cam also liked camping and most outdoor activities. Cam will be missed. May he rest in peace.
In keeping with Cam’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
