Obituary for Jennie Belle Hougestol (Tofte)

Mrs. Jennie Belle Hougestol of Red Deer, Alberta, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with her husband and children by her side, on her final journey on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Jennie Belle was born on August 25, 1936 at Wetaskiwin, Alberta, the first child of Molly and Harold Tofte. Jennie Belle was a very talented pianist, seamstress and a treasured friend to many. Her smile and gentle ways will be missed by all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Glen Hougestol; daughters, Jeri Lynne (Doug) Erickson, Kathy (Gary) Mullin, and son, Brent (Bonnie) Hougestol; special daughter, Jane Oliva; grandchildren, Jordan (Jami) Lorentzon, Brady (Lena) Lorentzon, Cameron (Amanda) Lorentzon, Erin Mullin, Shea (Karen) Mullin, Kevin (Terese) Mullin, Danielle Hougestol, Nicholas Hougestol, and Amber Hougestol, and she was also blessed with eleven great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Lorna May (Terry) Betteridge, sisters-in-law, Audrey Hougestol and Gertie Hougestol and a brother-in-law, Richard Zeluf. Jennie Belle was a favorite aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Jennie Belle was predeceased by her parents, Molly and Harold Tofte and a precious sister, Mary Ann Zeluf. A Funeral celebrating Jennie Belle’s Life will be held at the Deer Park Alliance Church, (at the corner of 30 Avenue & 39 Street), Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Jennie Belle’s honor may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta and N.W.T. at www.heartandstroke.com.
