Mrs. Catherine Rusk passed away at her home in Royal Oak Village, Lacombe, Alberta, where she lived for the past twelve years, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 94 years. She was born in Sanburg, Saskatchewan; and was the fifth child of Elizabeth and William Hrenyk. Catherine attended school and church in the Prince Albert area; where she used her self taught musical talents playing guitar and organ for all to enjoy. She loved to sing in duets, trios and quartets. Catherine did private duty nursing in San Diego, California for many years. Catherine married Joe Rusk of Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. She will be sadly missed by family and friends from coast to coast. Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her sisters; Martha Filipchuk of Toronto, Ontario, Esther Smith of Simpsonville, Kentucky; brother, Daniel Hrenyk and his wife, Barbara of Toronto, Ontario and dedicated cousins in the area, who loved her and visited at her home in Royal Oak Village. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Joe her in 2003, her parents, three sisters, Annie Stoyanowski of Kelowna, British Columbia, Sadie Hrenewich of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Mary Hrenyk, also of Prince Albert; and two brothers, John W. Hrenyk of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Joseph Hrenyk of Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Her family would like to express their deep appreciation to the management and care givers at Royal Oak Village, who gave her the wonderful care she received. They would also like to thank Dr. Olivia for her professional services.
