Obituary for Elmer Arthur Mindle

The family of Mr. Elmer Mindle sadly announce his passing at the Red Deer Hospice, surrounded by his
family, on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the age of 74 years. Elmer was an avid fisherman. He worked for DJ Auto Recycling and Choice Auto Electric in Red Deer. He had a great sense of humor even until his last days. His great love for the outdoors included camping, fishing and quadding. Elmer will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Violet “his lover”, his son, Kirby (Rose) of Smith Falls, Ontario, his daughters; Teresa (Ron) of Delburne, Alberta, Suzy (Steve) of Red Deer, Alberta, and Nancy (Garry) of Red Deer, Alberta. Elmer will be forever loved and remembered by his grandchildren; Melissa (Tim), Terry (Anne), Michael (Amanda), Gordie (Anomi), Jennifer (Darcy), Vanessa, Ryan, Sarah, Justin (Jess); as well as his great grandchildren; Brittany, Casey, Phoenix, Keinan, Madison, Nathaniel, Chloe, Jaxon, and Blake. Elmer is also survived by his brothers; Orval (Sharon) of Ontario, sister, Eva (Andy) of Ontario. Elmer was predeceased by his father, Wallace and his mother, Grace, three brothers; Gord, Theodore and Earl, his sister, Iva, and a son-in-law, Gord Green. A Celebration of Elmer’s Life will be held at the Red Deer Curling Centre, 4725 - 43 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. There will also be a Celebration of Elmer’s Life in Ontario in the coming weeks. Memorial Donations in Elmer’s honor may be made to the Red Deer Hospice, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 3S6 or to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Unit 32, Palliative Care Unit at www.rdrhfoundation.com.
