Meeting the Grandparents

The year was 2009 that my Fiance Trent Harksen and I drove out to Bashaw to meet his grandparents for the first time.

I was nervous to say the least, I didn't know what to expect.  You see, I'm 21 years older then Trent and for some familiy members it's hard to grasp that Trent would fall in love with some one his senior, older then his own Mom.  But once we drove up to Grampa and Gramma's trailer at the rv park all nervousness disappeared.  I was greeted with open arms and hearts by his grandparents and quickly bonded with Theresa and even met her sister Bella who also embraced me with open arms and heart.

Theresa and I are both Virgos having our birthdays exactly one week apart, I'm on the 24th and she's on the 31st.  I have great admiration for her help in  bringing up Trent to be the man he is today, kind, respectful, caring, loving, hard working, and the man I waited so long to be with.  We've been together since May 29th, 2006.

Theresa loved to paint in oil on her paint by numbers paintings.  We have through out the years hung many a painting by Theresa in our home.  In fact we own four and will be receiving the fifth and final painting that Theresa was working on even after she got sick.  That will be the last painting for us and the most special one.  We cherish every painting we've ever had given to us that Theresa lovingly took a great deal of time to make.

Thank you Theresa for taking me into your family with loving and no judgemental arms and heart.

We love you and will keep a special place setting next to my Mom on special occasions.

With all our love,

Trent and Patti
