Obituary for Eleanor Ruth Krepps

Eleanor Ruth Krepps
Mrs. Eleanor Ruth Krepps (nee Johnson), beloved wife of Mr. Frank Krepps of Red Deer, Alberta, formerly of Flin Flon, Manitoba, passed away at home, surrounded by the love and devotion of her family, on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Eleanor was born on September 6, 1929 at Lampman, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1931; where they lived on 78 Hill Street. Flin Flon wasn’t much of a town, but miners kept coming in to work for the Hudson Bay Company. Eleanor’s father worked as a Mill Foreman; and Eleanor’s mother was a wonderful mother. Jack and Sarah Johnson had three children; Joyce, the eldest, and Eleanor and Stan, who were twins. Eleanor and Frank had a blind date on a hay ride. Eleanor worked for the Hudson Bay Company; and the company had put on a show. It was a great hay ride out to Phantom Lake, and that’s where their love began. Frank felt he couldn’t have been a luckier man; they just fell in love and for sixty-four years that is how it remained. Frank retired as a foreman in two Departments after thirty-five years. Frank and Eleanor lived on 559 Harrison Street at Flin Flon, Manitoba; and also lived at Oliver, British Columbia for fourteen years. Eleanor had a beautiful garden and loved to care for it, and also her home. In 1982, the couple decided to travel and bought a thirty-six foot motor home. Together, they headed out into the wild blue yonder, traveling all over the United States of America. Frank got to enjoy his love of golf; and Eleanor came along to drive the golf cart. Their days were filled with happiness, love and laughter. The family always came to visit Frank and Eleanor at the campgrounds, and they really enjoyed those visits. Eleanor spent many hours knitting hundreds of pairs of slippers for all who liked them and also many sweaters for the children. Our beautiful Eleanor, the light and joy of our lives will be ever so deeply missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and many dear friends. Eleanor leaves to mourn her loving husband, Richard Franklin ‘Frank’ Krepps; her three sons; Bradley and Brock, both of Red Deer and Paul (Jean) of Ontario; and daughter; Sarrie Lee of Tennessee. Frank would like to acknowledge the wonderful help of Jennifer Krepps in their time of need. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Quinn Edwards, Funeral Director at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
