1924 – 2015

Rosie ‘Rose’ Tutty, born on March 5, 1924 in Pakan, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2015, surrounded by her family. Rose is survived by her twin sister Kaye Cote of Medicine Hat, her younger sister, Loreen Brick of Dundas, Ontario; her son, Wayne Tutty of Blackfalds, Alberta; his step-daughter Shannon (Gene and sons, Jagger and Brady) Howorko of Airdrie, Alberta; her daughter, Theresa (Larry) Frebrowski of Airdrie, Alberta; her "favorite" granddaughter, Jodanna (Ian) Chitwood of Airdrie, Alberta; her two sons, Darcy Starchuk of Campbell River, British Columbia and son, Kim (Amie, daughter Tiffany) Starchuk of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Madeleine Starchuk and Daphne Tutty as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. On December 1, 1951 Rose married the love of her life, Omer Tutty and in 1955 they moved to Blackfalds. Rose was an avid gardener, keeping her yard and flower beds meticulous. She enjoyed shaping her bushes and trees into animals. She would get up early in the morning to enjoy coffee on her deck and feed the birds out of her hand. Rose was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Omer Tutty, son Troy Starchuk; her parents Elena and Metro Starchuk; her brothers Alvin, Andrew, Harry and Tommy; her sisters Lena and Mary.
