Obituary for Colin Dean Pope

Colin Dean Pope
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Colin Dean Pope, at his Pine Lake home on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the age of 40 years. A man who loved his family more than life itself, Colin is survived by his loving parents, David and Marcy Pope, as well as his shining light and beautiful sister, Corrie Chalifoux, wife of Joël. Colin’s spirit lives on through his niece, Malia Chalifoux, who reminded him every day of his sister, as well as his nephew, Kai Chalifoux, whose gentle kindness warmed his uncle’s heart. Colin also leaves behind his daughter, Laree Poole, whom he truly loved and treasured with all his heart. Also left to mourn is his devoted grandmother, Charmaine Carritt, who was a constant support in his life, and he will be fondly remembered by his loving girlfriend, Shannon Garlinski, who stood patiently by his side. He will be sadly missed by his wide circle of friends and the many people whose lives he touched.

You were a man of big dreams, passion and a true love for your family. We will remember you always for your warm smile, protective nature, and aspirations to keep moving in the right direction.
You can rest now, my son; your fight is finally over.

A Celebration of Colin’s Life will take place at the Harvest Center Marquis Room at Westerner Park, Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no parking charges for those attending. If desired, Memorial Donations in Colin’s honor may be made directly to a Trust Account for his daughter, Laree, at the TD Canada Trust, 63 Clearview Market Way, Red Deer, Alberta, T4P 0N1, 403-340-7410. Funeral Arrangements in the care of Ashley Paton, Funeral Director at Parkland Funeral Home.
