Helmuth Ervin  Janzen
Mr. Helmuth Janzen of Red Deer, Alberta entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Red Deer Hospice on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the age of 79 years. Helmuth was born at Arborfield, Saskatchewan on October 26, 1934 and raised in Carrot River, Saskatchewan. He moved to Red Deer in 1964 for summer employment and decided to stay. Helmuth was employed at the Michener Centre as a Rehabilitation Practitioner for twenty-six years. He was united in marriage to Irene Boschman on July 22, 1967. Helmuth was a Second Generation Beekeeper along with his brothers in Carrot River and then took up beekeeping as a hobby again in Red Deer. After he retired, Helmuth would return to Carrot River for the summers to help his brothers with the bees. Helmuth was a loving and devoted family man and he will be dearly missed. Helmuth will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Irene of Red Deer; two daughters, Terri (Craig) Foster of Calgary, Alberta and Cindy (Dwayne) McKay of Red Deer; and his grandchildren, Hope and Sawyer McKay, also of Red Deer. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Eldon of Carrot River, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helmuth was predeceased by a brother, Howard and a sister, Melytta. A Celebration of Helmuth’s Life will be held at the CrossRoads Church, Corner of 32 Street and Highway 2, Red Deer County, Alberta on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Stu Krogman officiating. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta.
