Mrs. Doreen Elizabeth Steele of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, passed away with her family by her side, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Doreen was born on July 27, 1927 at Vancouver, British Columbia. She had a heart of gold and loved her family dearly. Doreen’s love for children was always evident in her special love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, Dane and the children she supported over the years through World Vision. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Shirley (Bill) Brown, Brian (Bev), Ron (Linda) and Jim (Bertha) Lainchbury, as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Oliver Steele in 1979. A Memorial Service to celebrate Doreen’s Life will be held at the Wetaskiwin Mission Church, R.R. #3, 3610 – 56th Avenue, Wetaskiwin, Alberta on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Beechmount Cemetery, Edmonton, Alberta. Memorial Donations, in Doreen’s honor, may be made directly to her church at www.wetaskiwinmissionchurch.org or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
