Obituary for William Leonard "Bill" Warner

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our Dad (Bill) Warner. Dad passed away suddenly September 23, 2020 in Red Deer Alberta. Dad was born in Winfield Alberta August 18, 1933.He was the youngest of six children. Dad grew up in the Springvale area as well as in Red Deer. Growing up Dad enjoyed playing various sports, playing his fiddle with his pals in the Orchestra the Rhythm Wranglers. He as well developed his extraordinaire talent for dancing. All of these passions he carried through his life, he played his fiddle till he was in his 80’s. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and would always know what season it was and what sport the “kids” were playing. Dad was predeceased by the love of his life Joyce after 50 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by His parents Hubert and Mary Warner, brothers Windy, Bun, sisters Ethel and Iola, as well as Nieces and Nephews. Dad is survived by his loving “big” Sister Louise. His three children, Perry and Sheryl Warner, Daphne Warner and John Moore, Rob and Sharon Warner. Grandchildren Erin and Duncan McKay, Staci and Bart Patton, Brett and Carole Warner, Kurt O’Neill, Tessa O’Neill, Ariana Warner and Caryssa Warner, his Great Grandchildren Claire, Fletcher, Sullivan, Berkley, Carson and Ellie, as well as many nieces and nephews who all held a special place within his heart. We will miss Dad deeply and treasure his memory forever.
It is with great sadness we have to say, due to Covid 19 restrictions and the amount of family and acquaintances Dad has we will be having a private family service. Please feel free at a later date to visit Dad’s final resting place in the Delburne Cemetery to say your goodbyes. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Delburne Minor Hockey or Delburne Minor Ball. Both of these were very near and dear to his heart.
