Mr. Walter ‘Wally’ Morris Ormerod of Red Deer, Alberta lost his lengthy battle with cancer on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the age of 62 years. Wally was born on May 22, 1957 and was raised in Toronto, Ontario. After going to college for only three days, he was still very successful - an Owner of A&W from 1988 - 2017, President of the Caroline Hotel, Financial Advisor for BMO Nesbitt Burns for more than thirty-five years, and co-owner of Walway Waste. Wally enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, golfing, boating to Sylvan Lake, and travelling to his second home in Cabo San Lucas. Wally will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Yvonne Ormerod (nee Mitten); his son, Robert (Victoria) Roth; and his daughter, Aimee (Paul) Rea, all of Red Deer and his grandchildren, Lola Roth, Bodhi Roth, Kohen Rea, and Lyndon Rea. He will also be dearly missed by his parents, Walter ‘Wally’ and Flora Ormerod; his siblings, Joann (Danny) Kozina, Debbie Foster, Shawna Ormerod and Tommy Ormerod; and his nephew and business partner, Wayne (Jeanette) Mitten. Wally was predeceased by a sister, Teresa Ormerod and a brother-in-law, Bert Foster. A Come and Go Celebration of Wally’s Life will be held at the Moose Hall, 140 Petrolia Drive, Red Deer County, Alberta on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making Memorial Donations in Wally’s honour to the Red Deer Regional Hospital CACC, Box 5030, 3942 – 50 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 6R2 or to the Central Alberta Humane Society at Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040 or 1.800.481.7421.

So many fun times with Wally and the family on Sylvan Lake, at the famous cabin, and even in the parking lot of McMahon Stadium before and after Stampeder football games, where Calgary Police would show up regularly and ensure that Wally and his family were safe (and behaving)! Our condolences to the whole family....Wally will sure be missed!!!!!!!!!
