Mrs. Vera May Wells (nee Reeser) passed away peacefully at Points West Living, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Vera was born on August 6, 1933 at Innisfail, Alberta, daughter of Jay and Rena Reeser. Vera lived a storied life; a farm girl, a teacher’s helper, a bank teller, a bookkeeper, a chef and restauranteur, an aircraft interior restorer, a cancer survivor and a dedicated wife and mother. Growing up on a farm west of Innisfail, in the Heckla/Spruce View area, she lived most of her life in Red Deer, with a few stops in Comox, British Colombia, Fort St. John, British Colombia, Parksville, British Colombia and Calgary, Alberta. She was well known and loved by many people she encountered. Vera will be lovingly remembered by her son, Don (Radha) and their children, Gordon (Kaitlyn), Abby, Maddy, Arvin and Suki; her son Gary (Debby) and their children, Matt and Curtis (Brittney) and her great grandchildren, Jayda, Sawyer and Emmett; her son, Ian (Donna) and their children, Hana and Jaden, Lynn’s children, Dallas (Tara) Tatlow and her great grandchildren, Kali and Austin, and Robin Sherrard. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Wendy Wells and Marilyn Reeser, and her special friend, Wanda Soder-Windle. Vera was predeceased by her loving husband, Wilfred “Gordon” Wells, daughter, Vera Lynn, her sisters, Dorothy Walker and Merle Tebb, and brother, Bill Reeser. Mom, we your children, thank you for teaching us how important family is. To all the staff at Points West Living, where Mom lived for the past three years, the care and love that was given to their “Mama V” was immeasurable. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. At her request, there will be no Funeral or Memorial Service.
