Obituary for Ty Sy
Sy Ty, of Koh Kong, Cambodia passed away at Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on December 14, 2020 at the age of 93.
Sy Ty is survived by her children, Tean Cheang, Leang Cheang, Anna Prak, Phaly Cheang and Andrew Cheang; five grandsons; thirteen granddaughters; six great grandsons and seven great granddaughters. She is predeceased by her husband Yi Cheang and seven sons.
Sy Ty was a devoted mother who enjoyed gardening, playing badminton, Cambodian chess and Cambodian baking. She loved listening to music and had a large collection of cassette tapes. Her favorites included traditional Cambodian music featuring a tro and Khmer Christian worship. She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home on December 22, 2020 at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Alto Reste Cemetery at 1:00pm.
