Obituary for Tom Mah

Mr. Tommy ‘Tom’ Mah of Red Deer, Alberta passed away suddenly, at home, on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 66 years. Tom received his Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge, and began teaching shortly after at Hunting Hills High School, during its inception in 1994. Tom took great pride from his student’s accomplishments, teaching a variety of classes, including financial studies, business studies, computer science, and work experience; while also coaching Basketball and Senior Badminton before retiring after twenty-seven years in June 2021. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, golfing and playing bridge with good friends. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kim (Dustin) and his granddaughter, Saoirse. He will also be sadly missed by his mother, Carol; his siblings, Jeannie and Daniel (Kelsey), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, many friends, colleagues, and former students. Tom was predeceased by his father, Jack and a brother, Henry. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Tom’s honor may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada at www.heartandstroke.ca.
