Obituary for Shirley Aldora Warner (Martin)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Shirley Aldora Warner at the age of 91 years. Shirley was born in Bassano, Alberta to Edward and Alma Grace Martin. She grew up on the Martin Family Farm in Makepeace, Alberta and went to school in Makepeace and Cluny. She met and married Neal Warner of Gleichen, and they farmed in the Gleichen area until they retired to Strathmore in 1998. She was a member of Eastern Star, on the Meadowbrook Hall Board and was Postmistress for many years, in Gleichen. She had a lifelong passion for curling, family gatherings, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Derry Warner, Wendy (Jim) Reimer and Brad (Jane) Warner; her grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney) Reimer, Danielle (Corey) Barney, Kace, Trent and Joel (Katrina) Warner; and her great grandchildren, Gemma, Si, Isla, Sunny and Rocco. She will also be sadly missed by numerous family members and dear friends. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Neal and her sisters, Mildred Sandquist, Helen Arrison-Sandquist and Beverley Martin. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be announced at a future date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
