Mr. Roy David Harrison of Eckville, Alberta passed away, at his home, on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the age of 77 years. Roy was an only child, born to Mabel and William H. Harrison in Edmonton, Alberta. He was raised in the Fawcett Lake Area. Around 1959, Roy started his working career as a laborer in Road Construction, which he advanced to operating Heavy Equipment. Later on he pursued a career in the Oil and Gas Industry; starting out with Hudson Bay Oil and Gas, and continued that career with many other Oil and Gas Companies, as a Field Operator. He met his wife, Ruby Starr in Clyde, Alberta and married her on April 7, 1962 in Westlock, Alberta. In 1963, their only child Lori Jean Harrison was born. Since then, they have lived in many places in Alberta, and eventually settled in Eckville, Alberta; where Roy and Ruby’s family continued to grow with their three grandchildren, Eric, Rebeca and Haly. Roy will be sadly missed by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Ruby; his daughter, Lori (Eldon) Engel; his grandchildren, Eric, Rebeca (Ryan) Prouse and Haly; as well as many close friends and neighbors who he always shared his funny stories with.
