1938 – 2022
Mrs. Roseline ‘Rose’ Marie Colette Joa (nee Hudon) passed away at The Hamlets, Red Deer on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the age of 84 years. Rose was born in Armley, Saskatchewan on February 2, 1938, and grew up in the small French community of Zenon Park, Saskatchewan. She went to post-secondary school in Edmonton, receiving a diploma as a Medical Records Librarian. She then moved to Red Deer, where she met Gerald Joa and they were married in Red Deer, Alberta, in 1966. Rose had a keen interest in genealogy, completing extensive family history for both the Hudon and Joa sides of her family. She also enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends. Rose will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-five years, Gerald; her children, Valerie of Red Deer, and Jeffrey (Dr. Julia Raudzus) of Vancouver; and her grandchildren, Alexandra Rauch (Olivia Mason), Katherine Rauch (Brandon Schlosser), Ava Joa, and William Joa; her brother, Raymond Hudon (Wendy) and her brother-in-law, Patrick (Nelly) Joa. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Marcel and Jeanne (nee Pelletier) Hudon, and a son-in-law, Philip Rauch. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Father Mirek Kostarzewski Celebrant.
