Obituary for Raymond Arthur "Ray" Stickland

Mr. Raymond ‘Ray’ Arthur Stickland of Red Deer, Alberta passed away suddenly with his family at his side, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the age of 80 years. Ray was born in Red Deer and raised in the Penhold area. He married and raised four amazing and accomplished children, his son Mark (Sherry) and their children, Amanda (Kraig) and Michael; his daughter Lori; his daughter Shannon (Mark) and their children, Justin (Calene), Logan (Laryn), and Whitney (Corvin); and his daughter, Leanne. Ray was also blessed with eight great grandchildren, Emslie, Charity, Lochlan, Byron, Paisley, Finley, Treyton and Kolson. Ray also leaves behind his sister, Leona Keuhn. In the Mid 90s, Ray met Kay in Arizona and from then on it was a new life of summers in Alberta and winters in Arizona. Ray and Kay were married in 2004 and they traveled with friends to many destinations including Australia/New Zealand, Panama, Belize, Hawaii, Across Canada, Alaska, but the best and most precious trips were in the motorhome with the grandkids or Disneyland with the family. Friends were a large part of Ray’s life they enjoyed many gatherings and holidays together. Ray and Kay enjoyed hosting many parties and gatherings. You are leaving a big hole in our hearts.... Ray was predeceased by his parents, Eddie and Sylvia, and a daughter, Lori. A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held at the CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Ray’s honor may be made directly to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation at www.albertadiabetesfoundation.com.
