Obituary

Miss Priscilla-Anne Rosemary Wells, band member of Sunchild First Nation, passed away in Innisfail, Alberta the evening of Saturday, April 4, 2020. She was flown home to Heaven on Angels wings at the young age of 41 years. Too early for her to go, really. A gentle and kind soul with not one mean word to say about anybody. At first glimpse, Miss Priscilla had a quiet nature, but hidden behind this was a vibrant personality. Once she had got to know the other person, she blossomed. In many cases, her friends became lifelong friends.

Miss Priscilla was born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on July 31, 1978. She was the eldest daughter of the late Rosemarie Baptiste (Beaverbones), daughter of the late Albert Beaverbones and Papasit (Goodrunning) Beaverbones. Miss Priscilla is survived by five half sisters; Marcella Bradshaw, Shawna-Michelle Wells (Jody) Keagin, Kariah, Khiana, K'Aylah, Summer and Sophia; Janelle Crookedlegs, Vicky Crookedlegs (Aaron) and children, Tiffany and son, August Crookedlegs; one sister-in-law, Tammy Tessier (Dale), Kass, Paige and Chris.

Priscilla has five sons; Colin (granddaughter Quindalyn), Francis, Dorian, Samuel and Cree. She loved each of her children in separate, yet dynamic ways. She was very proud of Colin and Francis, her two oldest sons and would often call and chat with them. They knew that there was not one thing that their mom wasn't willing to do for them; and she was very dedicated to each of them, and their happiness and success were of utmost importance to her. She had big plans yet with Dorian, Samuel, and Cree. Dorian often visited her in Innisfail, and she loved the comfort of his company. Priscilla was very close with her sister-in-law, Tammy Tessier and had a close relationship with Samuel and Cree, who were Priscilla’s two beloved babies. She was a very gentle mom to her boys and Tammy admired her for that; as she was always excited to share the news of each new milestone they made with great joy!
Miss Priscilla was blessed to have a large extended Sleepy Valley Family. Loving mother, Shelley Wells (Grandma Shelley aka CB Radio handle "Mother Goose"), siblings, Roy Selden and children, Vonnie Peters (Wells) and children, Ed Jayasinghe and children, Liz Jayasinghe and children, Candace Wells, Merianne Ryley (Wells) and children, Larry Thom (Wells) and children, Jackson Wells (Lagrelle), Derald Lagrelle and children, Andrew Lagrelle and children, William Lagrelle and children. Uncle, Roland Brown (Daddy Brown), Auntie, Erica Brown, siblings, Danny Brown and children, Debbie Brown. Predeceased by David Brown. Miss Priscilla grew up at Sleepy Valley Game Farm with Shawna-Michelle Wells and they enjoyed the opportunity to travel and sing with the Sleepy Valley Gospel Band. The songs Priscilla sang were, "Everywhere He Went" and "Praise Him". She also sang in the singing group at Rocky Christian School. She wrote an essay for Mr. Rene Hoeksema's Class entitled "How to be Saved"(Christianity); which she received a grade of 100%! We can be comforted in the knowledge of her final destination being with our Creator. Priscilla enjoyed a rich variety of outdoor activities, all the wildlife on the game farm and her favorite pastime of all, was horseback riding! She had an Appaloosa horse named Anna; whom she loved dearly and was very proud of.

Highlight outdoor activities Priscilla enjoyed were hiking, camping and horseback riding, in the mountains around Abraham Lake area. This is a beautiful piece of mountainous country west of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, reaching from Nordegg, Alberta - where family friend, Heather Clement resides, up to the National Park Boundary. Priscilla enjoyed the peace, serenity and calmness these wild undisturbed areas offered. Back in civilization and indoors, Miss Priscilla had beautiful hair and always loved having the latest hairstyle. She had a long dark mane of soft black hair, and it was a delight to style. Older sister, Merianne enjoyed doing her hair and make up during school years. Later on, Shawna-Michelle did a lot of makeovers; which involved makeup, facials, haircuts and styles, manicures, pedicures on Priscilla. Poor Priscilla! hahaha...No, Priscilla absolutely loved these times when somebody pampered her. She was always giving to everybody around her and this was a favorite way to give back to her. Older sister Candace would go to Innisfail from Calgary to take Priscilla out for tea; or would pick her up and drive her to and from Sleepy Valley for a visit. Sleepy Valley would go for picnics and visits in Innisfail; or Priscilla would spend a week of summer relaxing at Sleepy Valley. Novaley Straub (Sylvan Lake), a cousin, shared the same birthday July 31, as Priscilla!

Miss Priscilla enjoyed arts and crafts. Her love for beading medallion sets, for little pow wow dancers in Northern BC, would end up being endless hours of dedication to hard work while watching her children play. Friends and family would come over to visit and she would make beading look so easy! She had a talented way of mixing colors together that others wouldn't dare! This lady enjoyed painting and the fine art of cross-stitch. Some of her work has been featured at a teahouse in Innisfail. She often discussed plans of her beading business; how she wanted it to grow and what she envisioned for it. Priscilla took Wendy Krysta (Innisfail), her close friend and confidante, as one of her sisters; and Wendy shared inspiration with Priscilla and encouraged her work. The eagle picture included on her Memorial Card was going to be used for her business card. She enjoyed going for walks and hikes in Innisfail. Later on, her mobility was decreased by an impaired hip, but she still longed to stay active and always read about the latest diets and exercise fads. Her dear friends, Judy and Tony Balfour (Lacombe) would often drive to spend time with Priscilla and take her places. She was a great homestyle cook, and one of her favorite ways to put a meal together, was her famous crockpot; and oh did she do a great job in the kitchen! Priscilla loved cooking for family, her favorite ingredient always being love.

This darling lady will be missed by all family and friends near and far who were blessed to be a part of her life. We are thankful for her presence, although her time with us was cut short, we will meet again! Our wish for Miss Priscilla is this: May she know the true love of Our Creator and Heavenly Father, and find peace, joy, and comfort, while resting safely in His arms!

"If you want someone to listen, I am here. If you want someone to cry to, I am here. If you want someone to laugh with, I am here."

Prissie and I wrote a song that I put the music to. She was so happy to make this song with me, which I'm sure she would what me to sing for her family and friends. I would love too.
