Obituary for Paul Everett Ilchuk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Paul Ilchuk on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Lacombe Hospital. Paul was born in Vermillion, Alberta and on the family farm, north of Vermillion. They had crop land and raised purebred Hereford cattle. He went to a country school up to grade ten and he wanted to continue but was more needed to help on the farm. Paul also worked for a short time at a logging camp in British Columbia, and a packing plant in Hamilton, Ontario. Paul decided that working at a day job wasn’t for him. Paul met Roseabel through the Western Producer farm paper. They wrote letters to each other and over time met in person at the Seventh Day Adventist Camp meeting in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They were married on December 16, 1952 at the farm house in Kisbey, Saskatchewan and later had two sons, Lenard and Douglas, and one daughter, Marilyn. Family was very important to Paul.
There was always work to be done on the farm and summer was filled with days of haying and hard work but also time water skiing at Kenosee Lake. In the winter months we enjoyed going snowmobiling as a family. A Graveside Service will be held at the Percy Cemetery in Kisbey, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with a luncheon to follow at the Kisbey Recreation Hall. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Paul’s honor to the Three Angels Broadcasting Network.
