Mrs. Nancy Lee Yamniuk (nee Roland) of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the age of 80 years. Nancy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 24, 1942. On August 22, 1970, Nancy married the love of her life, Joe Yamniuk in Kapuskasing, Ontario. Nancy & Joe moved to Central Alberta in 1977. Nancy worked in the Insurance Industry for thirty-four years before her retirement in 1993. After retirement, Nancy was generous with her time and efforts, often volunteering around the community – one highlight being the time she devoted to the Red Deer Museum. For years, Nancy was an active member of the Associated Canadian Travellers(ACT) service club of Red Deer and a member of the Legion. Nancy was an avid camper and loved spending time at the Wilderness Village Campground Resort near Rocky Mountain House. In recent years, Nancy cherished her role as a great-grandmother, to 5 handsome young boys.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-one years, Joe, and her son, Craig (Deb), and grandchildren, Riley and Diana. She is also fondly remembered by her granddaughters Sarah (Steve) and Kalyn (Tyler) and their mother, Pamela (Jason, son Ethan). She is remembered by her sister, Carol, sister-in-law Connie, and four nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, and older brother, Chuck.
Donations to honour Nancy’s life may be made to two organizations that were near and dear to her heart; the afore mentioned Associated Canadian Travelers (ACT) or to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, whose research & clinical efforts extend the lives of those living with Cystic Fibrosis, has a special family connection.
At Nancy's request, no service will be held. A Memorial Tea will be held at a later date in her honor held at the Legion. Keep checking this site for details.
