Mr. Mel Andrews of Bashaw Alberta, passed away peacefully, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the age of 79 years. Mel grew up in Turner Valley, Alberta, but spent most of his adult life working construction in Calgary, Alberta. He was foreman of his crew and built homes. Mel was a handyman, who also built fences, decks, additions, and a playhouse for his children. He helped his daughters with renovations, as they purchased their own homes. He took pride in using his trade to help others when he could. Mel loved his family and friends; seeing them happy was the greatest joy of his life. His daughters recall that nothing made their father happier than tinkering with his Ford Galaxy. During his final years, Mel received exceptional care at Bashaw Meadows, and the family would like to thank the compassionate staff that cared for him. Mel will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters, his many grandchildren, and his brother, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Take comfort in knowing that Mel is no longer in pain; as he is with Jesus, in eternal glory. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held later this summer.
