It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Edwards of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Villa Marie Covenant Care Home on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Mary was born on June 8, 1931 in Lassard, Alberta to Walter and Agafia Czyz. Mary was the best Pyrohy and Holubchi maker ever. She loved you to finish your dinner plate all the time to make sure you were full. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, music, talking on the phone, cooking, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, cards, computer solitaire, gardening and loved being outdoors fishing. Mom had such a beautiful laugh and smile. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children, Norma (Cornell), Roger (Ellie), Sam, Jennifer (Mike), and Brad (Sandy); her grandchildren, Chris (Andrea), Nate (Shannon), Richard (Nicole), Trevor, Joey, Jennifer (Quinn), Brenda (Mitch), James (Erin), Nicholas (Brittney), and Alex; numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mary will be sadly missed by her brothers, Walter (Lorraine) and Bill (Ruth); her sisters, Helen (Louis), and Joie (Raymond); her brother in law, Nick as well as numerous family members; her very dear and special friend, Roxy; and her extended Family at the Villa Marie Covenant Care Home and many dear friends. The Family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the wonderful staff at the Villa Marie; they were like Family to Mary and were so kind and thoughtful to her Family when we visited Mom. Mary was predeceased by her infant son, Ritchie Arnold Hutzkal; her parents, Walter and Agafia; her siblings, Nick, Sam and Anne; her sisters in law, Kathryn, Maxine and Norma and her brother in law, Bill.
