Obituary for Martin Pierre Touchette

TOUCHETTE, Martin
October 20, 1959 – January 26, 2023
Martin Touchette of Red Deer, Alberta passed away surrounded by his family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the age of 63 years. Martin was born in Wainwright, Alberta on October 20, 1959. As a young boy, he moved to Red Deer, where his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own business, Ram Electric. Under his purview, his business successfully grew to become his current company, Ram Electric and Alarms, serving his clients throughout the four corners of the province. His natural business acumen complemented his kind and generous heart. Martin was known and respected as a loving father, a coach, and a mentor to many. He was always there for anyone who needed him. His friendships were lifelong relationships. Martin’s kindness also extended to the animals
on his acreage. He had a particular fondness for dogs, and a special bond with his golden retriever Belle. Martin was also an outdoorsman to his core, enjoying many hunting and fishing expeditions. With his loving wife of forty-two years by his side, he was a worldly traveler. He particularly favored Ixtapa, and Mazatlan, Mexico. Before he passed, Martin was thrilled to learn that he would soon be a grandpa to two grandchildren; this news was something that he had always longingly anticipated. He told Gwen that this “would give her something to do!” Martin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gwen, his three sons, Mike (Michelle), Andrew, and Kevin (Rachelle), his brother, Leo (Denise) Touchette, his two sisters, Jacqueline (Rolf) Westera and Denise (Jan) Kofin, his mother, Jeanne Touchette, and his numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. Martin was predeceased by his father, Pierre Touchette. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Martin’s honor may be made following the directions listed below the obituary.
