Obituary for Marlas George Dreaver

Mr. Marlas George Dreaver passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at the age of 52 years. Marlas was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan on May 10, 1967. He grew up in Waterhen Lake, until he was ten years old. He moved with his mother to Thunderchild First Nation, until he was sixteen years old; and then moved to Calgary. Marlas met Ray Chappell when he was twenty years old and they have been life partners ever since. He was dearly loved by Ray, his family and his friends. Marlas will be sadly missed by his life partner, Ray Chappell; Ray’s sons, Ray Jr. (Kelly) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Al of Calgary, Alberta; his daughter, Nancy (Hill) of Prince Edward Island. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Percy Dreaver (Lillian Ochiese) of Stony Plain, Alberta, Lawrence Dreaver of Meadow Lake, and Alex (Sally) Dreaver of Saskatoon; his sisters, Vicky of North Battleford, Bernice (Noel) of Flying Dust, and Tina (Lawrence) of Meadow Lake; his uncle, Johnny Dreaver; and his auntie, Grace Dreaver; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marlas was predeceased by his father, George Lasas and his mother, Martha Dreaver; his grandparents, William Dreaver, Lillian Ballantyne and Basil and Marie Lasas; his aunties, Velma Martell and Mary Dreaver; his uncles, George Dreaver (Big Shot), Henry Dreaver, Leo Lasas (Pimee) and Edwin Lasas (Calpoose); his cousins, Sheena Lasas, Merlin Chief, Melvin Dreaver, David Cardinal, George Dreaver Jr. and Lillian Waterhen. A Funeral Service will be held at Waterhen Lake School Gym. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Smiles Roman Catholic Cemetery, Waterhen Lake, Saskatchewan.
