Mrs. Marie Rae Goruk of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at her home on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the age of 47 years. Marie received her education at Camille J. Lerouge High School in Red Deer. After school, she moved to British Columbia, and continued upgrading her studies at Nanaimo, British Columbia. Eventually, Marie returned to Red Deer and began working at Canyon Sportswear. It was there, she met her husband, Ken, and the couple were married in 2002. They welcomed their son, Austin in 2005 and their son, Kyle in 2006; and she helped raise her stepdaughter, Chandler. Marie loved watching her sons play hockey, soccer and baseball. She loved her family with all her heart. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ken, their two sons, Austin and Kyle, her stepdaughter, Chandler Goruk, and her one grandchild, Parker. She will also be sadly missed by her parents, Dave and Penny Latimer, her brothers, Bryan, Ray (Tasha) and Chris (Jodi), all of Red Deer, and her sisters, Deanne and Teddi-Lynn (Noel) of Spruce Grove, Alberta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Marie was predeceased by a brother, Mike Latimer in 2012. A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
