Obituary for Marcel Paul Orieux

Mr. Marcel Paul Orieux passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 73 years. Marcel was born on January 9, 1946 at Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. He moved to Red Deer, Alberta in the late 1970’s; where he began his life long career in the Oil Patch. During his career, he touched many lives and helped many of his nephews find work in the Industry. Marcel was a loyal Eskimos and Habs Fan, and enjoyed a good Grey Cup Party. In the summer, he loved fishing for Jack on Chitek Lake. In the winter, he loved relaxing in Mexico. But mostly, he loved riding his Harley, joining many of the trips organized by the GAHD Dealership. Marcel was hot tempered and “didn’t suffer fools gladly”, but he was also a very loving and generous person, always willing to help someone in need. Marcel had an enormous impact on the lives of his children, grandchildren and his extensive family. They will feel this loss forever. Marcel will be very deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Anne; his children, and their families; as well as many dear friends.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, in place of flowers, Memorial Donations in Marcel’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
