Mr. Marcel Paul Orieux passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 73 years. Marcel was born on January 9, 1946 at Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. He moved to Red Deer, Alberta in the late 1970’s; where he began his life long career in the Oil Patch. During his career, he touched many lives and helped many of his nephews find work in the Industry. Marcel was a loyal Eskimos and Habs Fan, and enjoyed a good Grey Cup Party. In the summer, he loved fishing for Jack on Chitek Lake. In the winter, he loved relaxing in Mexico. But mostly, he loved riding his Harley, joining many of the trips organized by the GAHD Dealership. Marcel was hot tempered and “didn’t suffer fools gladly”, but he was also a very loving and generous person, always willing to help someone in need. Marcel had an enormous impact on the lives of his children, grandchildren and his extensive family. They will feel this loss forever. Marcel will be very deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Anne; his children, and their families; as well as many dear friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, May 22, 2020 with a time to be announced. If desired, in place of flowers, Memorial Donations in Marcel’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at Condolences may be sent or viewed at Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.

Anne and family. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Although I only got to know Marcel after I started riding my Harley I always enjoyed his company and what he had to say. He was a true gentleman and I consider myself better off for having known him. We used to kid each other about who was the oldest member of HOG---(he was:))

My deepest condolences to the family on Marcel's passing. I enjoyed many years dealing with Marcel. He was always fair and looked out for his employees and clients. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Anne, Blain and family. So sad to here of Marcel's passing. Marcel could be humorous, controversial, opinionated, kind, facetious and much more. Many memories and great stories to be told. He was a friend of mine for 40 years and I will miss him. Duane Boyer

I am so very sorry to hear of Marcels passing. He was very kind to us during Fred's illness and most gracious after his death. Marcel was extraordinarily kind in assisting with mowing my lawn and the battle of the thistle (as he used to joke), as well as helping with the never-ending snow.
He will be greatly missed by not only myself, but the others who he helped willingly and without reserve.
My deepest condolences to Ann and the entire family.
