Obituary for Lorraine Marie Christenson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lorraine Marie Christenson, of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the age of 93 years. Lorraine was born in Duhamel, Alberta, to Rose and Charles Durand. The family lived on a small farm near Duhamel, where Lorraine grew through the years, until she met Ilo. They got married, and started a family of their own, having four sons and a daughter. Together, they raised their family in Berwyn, Alberta. After Ilo’s passing in 1975, and after her kids moved away from home, Lorraine began to go on many adventures, which included skiing and travelling overseas. In 1989, Lorraine relocated back to Central Alberta, where she remained active with the Senior’s Centre and spent time with her family for many years. She loved watching her children and grandchildren grow their families and loved seeing the family all come together in April 2022, to celebrate her. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, Dennis Christenson, Wayne (Darrys) Christenson, Rod (Cheryl) Christenson, and Howard, her two brothers, Tom and Frank, her four sisters, Madeline, Ann, Mary, and Jeanne; as well as her thirteen grandchildren, her sixteen great grandchildren and her two great, great, grandchildren. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Ilo; her parents, Rose and Charlie; her siblings, Fred, Jimmy and Pat, and her daughter, Marlayne. A special thank you to Dr. Conradie and the Nursing Staff on Unit 33 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
