Linda Marie Collette Simard of Chicoutimi, Quebec, passed away at Eckville, Alberta, on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 58 years. Linda was born to Elise DuPere and Jean Louis Simard. She married Yves Tremblay in 1982. They moved to Leamington, Ontario, and started their family, welcoming sons, Simon and Benoit. Sadly, things didn't work out and they parted ways but remained lifelong friends. Linda was hired in 1989 for the French Catholic School Board, and she worked there throughout her son’s education. She was loved by staff and students alike for her bubbly greeting and compassionate nature. Linda spent those years juggling her son’s sports schedules, working full time, and being a single mom. She was friends with her son’s friends, and they were quick to confide in her, with their troubles and triumphs. As her boys grew, so did her pride in them. She was a rock they could count on, and a shoulder to cry on. Eventually, her boys grew, and then married and settled in Alberta. Life became harder with medical issues compounded by mental illness. Finally, to the joy of her family, she relocated to Eckville. She began attending Eckville Community Church. She loved to be with her family and dog, Billy. She fought until the end and will be remembered by her children as a hero.
She loved hard and will be remembered for it always.
Linda will be deeply mourned by her children, Simon (Sandra) of Red Deer County and Benoit (Patricia) of Eckville, and her grandchildren, Stephen, Silas, Hosanna, Abigail, Elliot, Zachary, Elijah, Bethany, Melody and Eliana. Also grieving are her siblings, Rejean (Sandra), Daniel (Line), Denis, Sylvie (Serge) and Sonia; and she also leaves behind sweet nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.
