Obituary for Lester Clyde McAra

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Lester Clyde McAra of Bashaw, Alberta at the Red Deer Hospice on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Lester was born on May 27, 1948 and was raised in Edmonton, where he attended school. He was a lifelong truck driver, which took him all over most of North America. Lester enjoyed crib and watching Professional Baseball, especially the Blue Jays. Lester will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kristina Marie McAra; his sons, Vernon McAra of Edmonton, Shayne (Laurie) McAra of Edmonton, Lester (Stephanie) McAra of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Rudy (Marie) Campbell of Red Deer and Billy Joe McLeon of Tofield, Alberta; his daughters, Stacey McAra of Edmonton, Jennifer (Brian) McAra of Bonnyville, Alberta and Alexandria Schmil of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; his mother, Ruth Spracklin of Edmonton; his brothers, Johnny (Diane) McAra, Donald (Jody) McAra and Jim McAra, all of Edmonton; his sisters, Patricia McAra of Edmonton, Margie McAra of Edmonton and Linda (Robert) Waselenko of Canora, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Austin; stepfather, George Spracklin; sister, Flora McAra, his first wife, Linda and Lloyd McAra. A Celebration of Lester’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive),
