SPICER, LESLIE
1945 - 2022
Mr. Leslie Dale Spicer of Half Moon Bay, Alberta passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the age of 77 years. Les was born in Innisfail, Alberta, on April 19, 1945. Les enjoyed many years in Innisfail as a youth, until the family moved to Red Deer in 1962. Les worked for Ford and in the Trucking Industry in his early career, until he found his passion in the Manufactured Housing Industry in the early seventies. Les was a business owner and mentor to many in the industry throughout his life. Les was an avid golfer and loved to travel and camp. He loved the cabin and house at Sylvan Lake that allowed many memories to be made with friends and family. He was always up for a good card game or libation around the fire, where he was always quick to have a joke or some sage advice. He will be very missed by his fur babies as well. Les will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Laurianne Spicer, his daughter, Annette Cameron of Half Moon Bay and her former husband, Ian Cameron of Salmon Arm, his son, Richard Spicer and his wife, Tina Spicer of Carstairs and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Peltier of Red Deer. Les was blessed to have five grandchildren, Brandon Spicer and wife, Taylor, Cory Cameron, Shanon Cameron and his wife, Mikealyn, Kevin Spicer and Jordan Cameron, and his two great grandchildren, Declan Spicer and Hayden Spicer. Les will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Donna Grandahl of Eckville and Wilma Farkas of Calgary, his sister-in-law, Dawn Spicer of Calgary and his sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Bruce Kumm of Red Deer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Les was predeceased by a brother, Kelly Spicer and a sister, Maryellen Jones.
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low:
Remember the love that we once shared,

For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to friends we know,
And busy your sorrows in doing good deeds.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life in the spring of 2023, to gather and share a smile and a story about a life well lived, and to raise a libation to Les.
