Obituary for Lawrence Lewis Lowes

It is with great sadness we announce that Mr. Lawrence Lewis Lowes passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, Sept 14, 2022 at the age of 94 years. He was born in McAuley, Manitoba on February 8, 1928. Lawrence worked a variety of jobs; including working on the railroad and building roads, until he started with Imperial Oil in Brandon, Manitoba in 1964, and then in Glenboro, Manitoba where he had his own agency. He stayed with Imperial Oil for ten years, finishing in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in 1974, when the family moved to Red Deer, Alberta, where he worked with Turbo Resources. Lawrence married June Walton in Kenora, Ontario on May 17, 1952. Lawrence had an active social life and participated in many activities. He spent many years at the Pines Lodge; where he, among other things, loved to garden and sing with a choir. Lawrence would often lead the Sunday Services and Bible Studies. He was comforted by his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ in his last days. Lawrence will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, June (Walton), his children, Linda (Yargeau), Brian (Sandra), and Richard (Rebecca), his sister, Marg, his eight grandchildren and his eleven great grandchildren. Lawrence was predeceased by his mother, Mary, his brother, Bud (Evelyn), his brother, Don (Agnes), his sister, Gladys (Giles), and his brother, Walter, who passed away as an infant. Lawrence was also predeceased by his five step brothers and sisters from his fathers first marriage, Sylvia, Bill, Milf, Kal, and Vi.
