Our beloved mum Kate passed away the evening of January 19, 2021 in Red Deer, Alberta. Kate was born in Portsmouth England on February 25th 1929. She was raised in the Bridge Inn pub in Southampton by her mum, Rose but remained a non-smoking tea-totaller all her life. She worked at the Post Office as an operator before becoming a mother. Kate was the loving and steady foundation of our family as we grew up in our family home in Nursling. As us kids grew up she returned to work at the Royal Southampton Hospital in the pathology lab where she made many great friends. Kate retired in 1993 and moved to Canada in 2006 to be closer to Sarah and Tim who had both emigrated there. Once again she made good friends in Calgary and Red Deer which was her nature. She was always friendly, positive and loved a good chat. Kate will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sarah (Steve) Dooley, and their daughter, Sophie; her son Tim (Doris) Croyle, and their son, Ben and daughter Amie.
