Obituary for Harvey Allan Knutson

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Mr. Harvey Allan Knutson passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Points West Living, Red Deer on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the age of 79 years. Harvey was born on August 5, 1941 at Mannville, Alberta. He went on to spend fifty-seven of his 79 years with his beloved wife, Ellie; whom he met and married in 1964. Harvey began his career in the highway sector, but it was through Halliburton and Sanjel that he rose in the ranks and eventually managed many different operations, across Alberta and B.C. The last major move in his career brought him back to Red Deer; where he owned and operated his own safety audit company. After his retirement, he enjoyed his many hobbies; including lowering his handicap on the golf course, playing bridge, gardening and sending daily joke emails to family and friends. He and Ellie especially appreciated their winter trips to Palm Springs. Harvey was a family man. He always looked forward to spending time with his kids and grandkids. Harvey had an easygoing manner and a quick wit. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Points West Living, who showed their love and concern during Harvey’s time of need. Special thanks to Dr. Jeff Mulder and Dr. Derick Rautenbach for their compassion and support. If desired, Memorial Donations in Harvey’s honor may be made directly to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation at www.childrenshospital.ab.ca or to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories at www.alzheimer.ca. A Private Family Interment will take place at Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
