Obituary for Gordon Kevin Robert "Kevin" Dickie

DICKIE, Gordon
1957 – 2022
Mr. Kevin Gordon Robert Dickie of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the age of 65 years. Kevin was born on February 25, 1957 at Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Kevin traveled all over the World and lived in many different places until finally settling in Alberta. He very much enjoyed his work in the Oilfield as a Well Tester. Kevin spent much of his life in the Rodeo Circuit; which he loved and he won many trophies. Dad lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms; and we take comfort that he left this world in the same way, surrounded by his family, in his favorite comfy chair. He will be very deeply missed by so many. Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his first wife, Cheryl Bailey, the mother of his girls; his daughters, Jade Dickie, Jamie Dickie, both of Red Deer, Jackie (Shane) Brown of Innisfail, and Jody Dickie of Red Deer; his grandchildren, Travin (Amber-Lee), Keein (Lilly Read), Brodin, Tristin, Kadin, Raydin, Madison, and River; and his great grandchildren, Pheonix-Anne and Onyx Marie. He will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Kami Lucas of Vernon, British Columbia and Tara Leddy of Rycroft, Alberta; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, his nieces and his nephew, and his great nieces and nephews. Kevin was predeceased by his second wife, Lora Jayne Dickie of Saskatchewan, his father, Carman Wallace Dickie of Manitoba and his mother, Margaret Janette Mitchell of Saskatchewan. A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Kevin’s honor may be made directly to the Ronald McDonald House at www.rmhcalberta.org or to the Alberta Children’s Hospital at www.childrenshospital.ab.ca. A poem from his daughters:
When you're ready to saddle your horse and ride off into the sunset,
know that I will saddle mine too and ride to heaven with you.
