Obituary for Gordon Blair Davidson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Mr. Gordon Blair ‘Gord’ Davidson, husband, father, papa, brother, and best friend, from sudden Acute Pancreatitis with his family and best friend, Kevin, by his side on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the age of 66 years. Gord was born in Trail, British Columbia on March 22, 1953. He moved to Delta, British Columbia with his family in 1964; where he attended Delta Secondary School and met his soulmate, Mia. At the age of fifteen, they started dating and right after graduation, in 1971, they were married. Gord and Mia chose to stay in Ladner, British Columbia to raise their family. In 2018, Gord retired and moved out to Alberta, to be with his children and grandchildren. He spent his days chasing the grandkids all over Central Alberta for their sporting events. Gord loved watching his grandsons’ hockey, lacrosse and basketball games, sometimes getting to three games in one day, many hours apart from each other. He always made sure to see his granddaughter’s Figure Skating Competitions and was always so impressed with how much she had improved since the last. Although Gord was not a fan of the Alberta weather, he was his grandkids biggest fan, cheering and supporting them every single day. Gord will be very lovingly remembered by his daughter, Alahna (Chad) Hunter; grandsons, Cole and Josh; step-grandsons, Mackenzie and Matthew; his son, Scott (Nadine) Davidson; grandchildren, Kenzie and Devin and step-granddaughter, Alida. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Stan Davidson and his nephew, Garrett; as well as many other friends and family. Gord was predeceased by the love of his life, Mia in 2010, his parents, Lorne in 2007 and Netta in 2013. A Memorial Service for Gord will be held at the Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta, British Columbia on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a gathering at the Ladner Fisherman’s Hall, 4481 Savoy Street, Delta, British Columbia.
