Obituary for Gladys Ellen Worgan (Wallis)

Mrs. Gladys Ellen Worgan, beloved wife of Mr. George Worgan of Innisfail, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice, on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 72 years. Gladys was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia. She attended the University of Victoria, and received her Bachelor of Education Degree. Gladys was a much loved Primary School Teacher for thirty-eight years in the Shuswap area, until she retired and moved to Chase, British Columbia. She was a beautiful person, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. One of her most amazing skills was the ability to make wonderful friends wherever she went. Her last few years were spent in Innisfail, Alberta; where she enjoyed walking all the green spaces with her Dalmatian. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding in the mountains of British Columbia. Her adventurous spirit was known by many of her friends and family. Gladys loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Above all, Gladys was very proud of her success in battling cancer for the last eight years. She has been a source of inspiration ~ a hero for many people. She was an absolutely lovely soul that will be missed incredibly by all. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her husband, George, her son, Scott of Kamloops, British Columbia, her daughter, Coralee Barber of Red Deer County and her three grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Hugh Wallis of Kamloops, British Columbia and her two sisters, Betty Shields of Red Deer, Alberta and Trudy Trithardt of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Gladys was predeceased by her parents, Ken and Ellen Wallis. A Memorial Service will be held at Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
