In Loving Memory of
Gladys McLeod

November 23, 1956 – August 4, 2022

Gladys was born on November 23, 1956, in Fort Liard, Northwest Territories. She passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, after a brief stay at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. Gladys leaves to mourn, her life partner, Doug, her two children, Derek (Andrea), and Melissa (Ian), her treasured but spoiled grandchildren, Jakob, Anniston, Owen and Talan, her siblings Angus (Irene), Ellen (Ed), Morris (Barbara), Ruby, Mable, Kathie, Sharon (Alex) and Dolly, her half brother Ernie and half sister Mavis, as well as her two girls, Tiger Lily and Roxy. Gladys was a private person but had a laugh and smile that everyone who met her would remember. She was a dedicated worker who always kept busy and made many friendships along the way. Gladys spent many of her last years cooking at the Big Valley Inn. You knew she was cooking if the restaurant was full! Gladys enjoyed traveling around Central Alberta with Doug, beating people at crib and winning at Bingo. Gladys moved to Byemoor to be closer to her children and beloved grandchildren who were the centre of her world. Even though Byemoor began to feel like home, she always held a special place for her family in the Northwest Territories. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.. A celebration of Gladys’ life will be held at the Fort Liard Community Centre on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m with a service in Byemoor to follow at a later date.
