Obituary for Gene Martin Tone

Mr. Gene Martin Tone passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 82 years. Gene enjoyed a long career as a Pressure B Welder and Quality Control Supervisor. He enjoyed his career so much that he was known to craft metal art pieces when his workday was over. Gene’s family, friends and sports made his world complete. We will miss Gene’s strength, laughter and teasing, as well as the mischievous twinkle in his eyes. He was always inquisitive, engaging and funny. Gene was truly a devoted companion, friend and gentleman. His love will live on. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-eight years, Marion, his son, Tim, his grandson, Christian. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Lynne Brown, as well as many extended family and friends, who were fortunate to share his worldly adventures with him. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held. The family looks forward to meeting with friends and family at a future date, to continue to celebrate Gene’s life. If desired, Memorial Donations in Gene’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Lung Association, 885 Meadowlands Drive, Suite 502, Ottawa, Ontario, K2C 3N2 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation 100, 119 - 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6.
