Mrs. Eunice Mae Anderson (nee Dafoe) passed away, with her family by her side, at the Red Deer Hospice on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the age of 83 years.

Eunice was born on September 10, 1936 in Coronation, Alberta and raised in Hemaruka. She was the youngest of eight children. She attended Grade School at St. Elmo School and graduated from Consort High School. Eunice obtained a Petroleum Secretarial Certificate and worked for Allied Chemicals and Quality Construction/Heather Realty in Calgary, Alberta.

Eunice married Bob Anderson from Coronation, and they moved to many different places with Bob’s work, but settled in the Westerose/Ma-Me-O Beach Area. They cleared half the land and raised range cattle and a couple of horses. Eunice and Bob had two sons, Des and Randy; who attended school in Falun, Alberta. Eunice (Gulf Oil Canada) and Bob (Flint) worked at the Rimbey Gulf Gas plant for twenty one years.

Eunice was a member of the Homeglen Lady’s Club and enjoyed dances, dinner, and bowling in the District. There were many family dinners with immediate and extended family. Over the years, Bob and Eunice enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Arizona and British Columbia. Eunice and Bob retired from Gulf in 1992. They much enjoyed the area of Homeglen but retired in Red Deer in 2001;where they enjoyed winter league bowling and summer golfing.

Eunice will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Des (Bonnie) and Randy (Nancy); her four grandchildren, Kelly (Shelley), Kraig (Maureen), Amanda, Stacey (Hadrian); her great grandchildren,Marlee, Tucker, Hayden, Riley and Gavin and her sister, Nell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Bob in 2014, her father, Clarence, her mother, Ellen Dafoe; a great grandson Keadon; a brother, Fred (Ann); three sisters, Jean (Bill), Rosemary (Eddy), Amy (Gordon) and a brother-in-law, Andy Glass.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at the Red Deer Hospice for their exceptional care, and the friends and family who supported Eunice, in her final months.

In keeping with Eunice’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held. If desired, Memorial Donations in Eunice’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
