Obituary for Elizabeth Lynn Battle

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Elizabeth Lynn ‘Liz’ Battle, due to complications from pneumonia, on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the age of 58 years. Liz was born in Hanna, Alberta. Her true passion was her love for animals. Liz was very much an animal advocate. She worked for several animal charities, including Hope Lives Here, Off the Wall Animal Rescue, and Whisker Rescue. Liz fostered dogs and cats but was the best ‘mom’ to small kittens. Her love, effort and dedication to animals will never be forgotten. Liz was a dedicated long-term employee for AHS. She will be missed by many coworkers, family and friends. Liz is survived by her beloved Misha, who will now be living with Abby and Bella. Liz will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Diana (Garren) Battle and her children, Laura, Linda and Marcy, and Sandra (Jim) Zielke and her children, Jackie and Kirk, her brother, David (Annie) Battle and his children, Teresa, Travers, John, and Katie, her stepson, Carl De Guzman, her nieces, Lynnette and Melanie; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Liz was predeceased by her mother, Wilma F. Battle, her father, John W. Battle, a brother, Russell Battle, her nephews, Gary Battle and Thomas Garren Battle, her great niece, Angelica Daley, and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Battle. An Interment will be held at the Delia Cemetery, Delia, Alberta at a later date. At Liz’s request, no service will be held. If desired, Memorial Donations in Liz’s honor may be made directly to any of Liz’s animal charities or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
