Obituary for Edwin 'Ed' Joseph Keen

1940 – 2020
Edwin Joseph Keen of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the age of 80 years. Edwin was the oldest of three siblings. He grew up on a mixed farm in Saskatchewan and, later, Manitoba. Ed worked as a metal fabricator, building livestock and farm equipment for over 20 years. He also served two terms as Mayor of Lanigan, Saskatchewan, and was part of the Economic Development Committee for many years. He spent many years as an Auctioneer and, later in life, ran an antique shop, and built replica furniture. Ed had been involved with the Full Gospel Businessman’s Association and the Lions Club. He had also enjoyed golfing and downhill skiing in his spare time. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy, of Edmonton, sons, Eryn (Maria) of Red Deer, and Jon (Stacy) of Kamloops; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Albert (Eleanor), of Surrey, and sister, Val, of Saskatoon. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Sebastian and Pauline Keen. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home on Dec 11, 2020 at 11 AM. A private graveside service will follow at Earlville Rutherford Cemetery.
