1938 – 2019
Mrs. Dorothy Eleanor Thompson passed away quietly on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the age of 81 years. Dorothy was born on August 2, 1938 to Daisy and Milfred Thompson of High River, Alberta. She grew up on a farm near High River, with brothers, George and Joe and sister, Mary. Dorothy married Jon Thompson on January 14, 1956 and they had five children. Dorothy leaves to mourn her children, Robert (Barb), Sandra, Susan (Doug) Churchill and Roger; her grandchildren, Kim, Nathaniel, Katherine, Natalie, Luke and Jerrica; as well as her sister-in-law, Edna Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Jon; a son, Richard; her brothers, George and Joe; a sister-in-law, Marilyn; and a brother-in-law, Gordon Rennie. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made directly to a charity of donor’s choice.
